A quiet few weeks, but the forge is still burning! Durandal nears completion, Ars Mechanica grows with STL-ready mecha, and Holoverse heads back to the drawing board after a tough playtest. Lots learned, lots brewing. Expect more news soon—including a crowdfunding launch later this year.

It’s been a quiet couple of weeks from me, and for good reason: though things have moved slowly, they’ve been moving steadily. Between layout, playtesting, and prepping new releases, the workshop hasn’t been idle.

Durandal Marches On

First off, Durandal continues to evolve; while the book was fully written, I’ve taken the opportunity of the mmissed crowdfunding campaign to revise it fully. I’ve been deep in Affinity Publisher, refining layout, balancing mechanics, and polishing everything to ensure the game captures the mythic tone I’ve always envisioned. It’s taking shape beautifully, and I’m on track to release before August. Here’s a sneak peek from the layout process:

Ars Mechanica: Steel and Smoke

Meanwhile, work on Ars Mechanica continues as well. I’ve been focusing on visual assets, specifically creating character sheets for three different types of Machina (our early modern mechs). Once finalized, these designs will be used to generate STL files via Meshy, bringing the brutal beauty of springpunk warfare to your tabletop. These will be included with the final pdf.

Holoverse: A Misstep and a New Start

On a more personal note, the recent Holoverse playtest, led by my friends Pedro and Telmo, was a wake-up call. My interpretation of what they wanted didn’t quite hit the mark, and the session didn’t land as hoped. But that’s how growth happens. The good news? I’m full of new ideas and ready to rework the game from the ground up. We’re still aiming for a crowdfunding campaign later this year, and I’m excited about what comes next.
