Read about recent progress on Durandal, the release of Ars Mechanica and Medjay, and appearances on Dan Davenport’s Q&A and Abraham El Jaguar’s YouTube. Holoverse is heading to its first playtest at Grupo de Roleplayers de Almada. Also, check out Hélder Araújo’s Silent Lake!

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to drop in with a quick update on what I’ve been working on lately, it’s been a busy and exciting few weeks in the world of Se7en Sagas.

Durandal continues to move forward: I’ve been refining mechanics, polishing lore, and preparing the next big content push. Mythic chivalry is alive and well, and I can’t wait to show you what’s next. I’m planning on publishing Durandal this year on DriveThruRpg, and for next year there will be a setting book for mythic al-Andalus and The Great Durandal Campaign, to follow the events of the free quickstart adventure and the adventure featured on the core book.

In case you missed it, I’ve recently published Ars Mechanica and Medjay, two very different but equally ambitious projects. Ars Mechanica explores clockwork intrigue and mechanical marvels on the brutal 30 Years’ War and uses the same diceless system as Dawnfall, while Medjay is an explosive pulp game which dives into ancient deserts, justice, and supernatural conspiracies, and uses the same narrative 1d6 system as The Call of the Deep, The Wailing and Echopoint.

To help spread the word, I had the chance to join a Q&A with Dan Davenport, always a fantastic and insightful host. And shoutout to Abraham El Jaguar, who’s been featuring me over on his YouTube channel; go check it out if you haven’t already! I really like his unbiased reviews: Abraham is not afraid to tell you when something is off or when something is cool.

Meanwhile, Holoverse is getting its first live playtest at the Grupo de Roleplayers de Almada’s brand-new monthly convention, next Saturday the 27th! I’m thrilled to see this surreal, emotionally-charged setting come to life at the table. If you live around the area make sure to go there to play and talk about the game with Pedro and Telmo, the creative minds behind the setting.

On that note, my good friend Hélder Araújo has been promoting his own TTRPG project, Silent Læke. I’ve seen some of the behind-the-scenes work, it’s full of atmosphere, tension, and quiet dread. Keep an eye on that one. Be sure to head on to Backerkit and follow the campaign!

Thanks for continuing to follow the journey. If you’ve played any of the new games or joined one of the events, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Stay weird, stay playing.
Rui
