Thread & Thimble is now live on DriveThruRPG. This cozy fantasy RPG of patchwork magic and small kindnesses is out now, while Se7en Sagas prepares a major site refresh. After that, work begins on a print on demand edition of Durandal, with upgrade discounts for existing PDF owners.

I’m delighted to say that Thread & Thimble is now live on DriveThruRPG.

This is a game that has been quietly close to my heart for a while. It began with a simple question: what would a fantasy roleplaying game look like if it cared less about conquest and more about care, repair, welcome, and the small rituals that keep a place from coming undone?

The answer became Thread & Thimble, a cozy fantasy tabletop roleplaying game of patchwork magic and small kindnesses.

In the Patchwork Vale, the important things are rarely grand, but they matter deeply. A lantern may fail for want of oil, or for want of welcome. A bridge may feel wrong in the fog. A house may lose its warmth, not because the fire has gone out, but because something in the life of the place has quietly frayed. Here, adventures begin with a missing song, a lonely spirit, a cold hearth, or a custom repeated without heart. And the people who answer those troubles are not mighty heroes, but helpers: bakers, stitchwitches, lantern keepers, tea makers, tinkers, storytellers, wanderers, and others whose gifts are practical, personal, and full of meaning.

Thread & Thimble is built to be gentle, approachable, and emotionally rich. It uses a simple core system based on a single six-sided die, with advantage and disadvantage, but its real focus is on how you approach a problem, not only whether you solve it. The game is about attention, hospitality, memory, and mending. It is about what happens when small things matter.

This release is also very special to me for another reason: it is one of the clearest expressions of something I care deeply about as a designer. I love games with myth, history, horror, and emotional weight, but I also love the idea that warmth itself can be worth defending. That tending a place, restoring a ritual, or helping someone feel seen again can carry just as much meaning as a battle in a larger, harsher world.

If that sounds like your kind of game, you can now find Thread & Thimble on DriveThruRPG.

I hope it brings your table soft evenings, memorable villages, shy little spirits, mended lanterns, shared tea, and the quiet satisfaction of making a world feel whole again.

Thank you, as always, for reading, for following my work, and for helping these strange little games find homes of their own.

What Comes Next: Site Improvements and Durandal in Print

Now that Thread & Thimble is out, I want to turn some attention back to the site itself.

Over the coming stretch, Se7en Sagas will be going through a more substantial renovation and improvement pass. I want the site to look better, read better, and serve the games more clearly, both as a home for my work and as a place people actually enjoy visiting.

Once that work is in place, one of my next major goals will be a print-on-demand edition of Durandal, my game of mythic chivalry.

That is something I’ve wanted to do for some time, and I’m very much looking forward to finally moving it forward.

Just as importantly, I want to make that transition fair to the people who already supported the game in PDF. So when the Durandal POD edition is ready, anyone who already bought the PDF will be able to upgrade with a discount.

More news on both the site refresh and Durandal’s print edition will follow as things develop, but I wanted to share the direction now.

There is still plenty of work ahead, but it is good work, and I’m excited for what comes next.

Best,

-Rui
